Teaching and learning through the arts
“Through participation in the arts, students will become the innovators of tomorrow.”
–Kelley Shanley, President & CEO
Promoting education is one of the core values of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and an integral part of our mission. At the heart of our commitment is the belief that learning through the arts serves as a powerful tool for student achievement and personal development, and provides people of all ages with the opportunity to cultivate and grow their talents and appreciation for the arts. The Broward Center is recognized nationally for its commitment to arts in education, reaching more than 150,000 students each year with programs that enrich, inspire and engage.
Whether you’re a teacher, parent or student, come explore the many ways to experience the arts at the Broward Center.
Building a community of innovators, thinkers and creators
The Broward Center’s education programs are reaching new heights as learning through the arts comes alive in the brand new Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center. The facility, which opened in the fall of 2014, houses classrooms and a coaching studio, integrated technologies for distance learning and the JM Family Studio for teaching, rehearsals, recitals and intimate performances.
Curated by our education team, programs in the new Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center are designed to encourage artistic expression and appreciation through the performing arts and include classes, workshops, master classes and lectures for children, teens and adults of all ages. See Spring Semester class. (Click here for Spring semester classes)
In addition to a wide range of classes for the public, school day programs are available for public and private school groups. Thanks to the Broward Center’s long standing partnership with the Broward County Public Schools and their generous support, Broward County school children can attend new programs and performances in and around the new education center. Private schools and home school groups will also find many new programs at the Broward Center to engage and inspire students.
We are grateful for the support of so many in the community to create a stunning new campus for teaching and learning.
